The Tribune newspaper in the Bahamas has a headline Lawyer Says Nassau ‘Is A Dangerous Dump.’ It quotes me talking about Nassau, something I have done in the past when the Nassau Guardian quoted me saying that the Bahamas are ‘one gunshot away’ from cruise line exit.

Multiple news sources are reporting that a Carnival crew member was detained today in Puerto Rico on allegations that he raped a woman onboard the Carnival Liberty cruise ship.

A number of new sources are reporting that a woman went overboard from the Seabourn Quest this evening. The cruise ship had left Boston and was headed for Bar Harbor, Maine.

Reportedly, a highly intoxicated passenger (people are saying 30 – 35 years of age) went overboard while the Carnival cruise ship was off the coast of Cuba.

There are reports that the Carnival Liberty cruise ship sustained an engine room fire today.
The fire took place when the cruise ship was docked in St. Thomas USVI. Cruise passengers were reportedly evacuated ashore, some wearing life vests.

Instead of hiring trained lifeguards in response to the drownings on the Sapphire Princess, Princess has tasked bartenders, dishwashers, and other crew members to add an hour of work each day to being "pool monitors" or "pool rovers".

An Italian newspaper reports today that a Costa crew member is accused of raping a young passenger aboard the Costa Diadema while the cruise ship was docked in Naples.
The newspaper says that a Costa bartender allegedly followed an 18 year-old French woman into her cabin and raped her brutally.

Disney is the only U.S. based cruise line avoiding the Faroes. Double Kudos to the Magical Cruise Company for doing the right thing.
I have always wondered how the public relations people at the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) manage to show up at work.
Their sole purpose is to spin the news and try to make the cruise lines look good.
It seems, to me, that’s a hard thing to do.

Italian newspaper L’Unione Sarda reports what it is calling an excursion boat from the Costa Mediterranea apparently broke a cable while it was being lowered in Montenegro.
Photographs sent to me shows what appears to be a lifeboat dangling on the side of the Costa cruise ship.
