A forty-nine year old crew member, employed by Disney Cruise Line, was arrested at Port Everglades after he disembarked from a Disney cruise ship last week, according to multiple news outlets. Acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a Homeland Security task force arrested crew member Alvin Gonzalez after they located a video on his cell phone which showed two children having sex, according to the arrest report.

The video, which lasted a little over eight and one-half minutes, showed a boy, believed to be as young as young as 8, and a girl, estimated to be as young as 12, having intercourse with each other.

Media accounts of the arrest did not mention the Disney Dream which is the only Disney ship calling on Port Everglades.

Disney’s sole press statement regarding this matter is that it fired the crew member.

Yes, there are sexual perverts and pedophiles employed on cruise ships. Disney Cruise Line is no exception. Read: Did Disney Cruise Lines Cover Up Sexual Molestation of 11 Year Old Girl on the Disney Dream?

Viewing child pornography is not the type of thing that most parents who like to cruise with Disney imagine ship employees doing. A potential danger during a cruise ship is a pedophile crew member interacting with a child in a guest cabin or in a child care facility on the ship.

The specific job position of this crew member, from the Philippines, is currently unknown. There are over 100,000 crew members who follow our Facebook page, so there is a good chance that a crew member will recognize this individual and inform us of his job position.
