The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported on April 15, 2026 that 19 passengers and 3 crew members were sickened in a gastrointestinal (GI) outbreak on the Oceania Insignia. The outbreak occurred during the ship’s 10-night voyage that started in Panama City on April 4 and ended in Miami on April 14.
The Oceania Insignia reported to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that 74 passengers and 1 crew member are sick with Norovirus. This is the first gastrointestinal (GI) outbreak for Oceania Cruises and the 20th outbreak across all cruise lines this year.

The Oceania-operated Insignia failed its last sanitation inspection conducted by United States Public Health (“USPH”) inspectors on December 17, 2018, according to a crew member who wishes to stay anonymous.
