Several crew members aboard Royal Caribbean ships informed me that a ship employee who worked as a “loft attendant” died this weekend due to COVID-19.  There was a shipboard announcement on the day of his passing on the Symphony of the Seas as well as on other Royal Caribbean ships.

Puyol Puuyy Yool (full name – Puyol Vacgez Gavenliy Tarayici) was employed in the housekeeping department at Royal Caribbean. He specialized in providing housekeeping services to guests who sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas and stayed in multi-level “lofts” on the ship. Perhaps there are guests who sailed on the ship who will recall his friendly attitude and smiling face, as his friends described him.

He was from Indonesia and lived in the Temanggung Regency  in the Central Java Province in the capital of Temanggung.  He was just 27 years of age.

He had been medically transported to Broward Hospital in March from the Symphony of the Seas.

There are a number of tributes to this young man on Facebook:

Rest in Peace Puyol Puuyy Yool and prayers to your family and friends.

You can pay your respects here or on the Facebook tributes above.
