News Maritime reports that a fire erupted in the galley of the ferry Cruise Europa during a voyage from Ancona, Italy to Igoumenitsa-Patras, Greece.

The fire reportedly started in a galley, but the fire sprinkler system stopped the spread of the fire and extinguished it. There are reports that the ship’s galley was slightly damaged during the fire, but no passengers or crew members were reported injured.

Cruise Europa informed the Greek authorities about the fire and the ship was surveyed before berthing at Greece.
