The World of Cruising reports that a passenger from the Saga Sapphire went overboard from the cruise ship while the ship was cruising across the Atlantic Ocean.
The magazine’s Facebook page says that "a passenger has gone missing from cruise ship Saga Sapphire in the middle of the Atlantic. The ship, specializing in holidays for the over 50s, has turned round and is conducting a search."
Saga issued the following statement today:
"During the morning of Sunday 13 December, whilst the Saga Sapphire was crossing the Atlantic, a passenger was reported missing by her traveling companion. Following a comprehensive search of the ship, she could not be found. Working in conjunction with maritime authorities the Saga Sapphire has turned round to conduct a search . . ."
The Saga Sapphire is currently on a 35 day cruise from Southampton to the Caribbean.
