Carnival ValorThe U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a passenger from a Carnival cruise ship this evening near Galveston, Texas after it left port heading to Cozumel.

The Coast Guard News reports that around 7:00 P.M. today, a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew rescued a 30-year-old woman from the Carnival Valor approximately 10 miles east of Galveston, Texas.

The Carnival Valor contacted the Coast Guard station in Houston-Galveston and requested assistance for a woman who has suffered a head injury after a fall.

The Coast Guard helicopter hoisted the passenger from the Valor and transported her to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she reportedly was in stable condition.

I first heard of the incident on Twitter when the USCG Heartland posted news of the medevac.
