Another Princess Cruise Ship Stricken With Norovirus?

Island Princess Cruise Ship - Norovirus? The Sun Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale reports that passengers aboard the Island Princess cruise ship are experiencing symptoms of gastrointestinal illness, according to a spokesperson for the Centers for Disease Control ("CDC").

The Princess cruise ship is scheduled to return to Port Everglades this morning after sailing a 10 night Panama Canal cruise.

The newspaper reports that the incident is not yet an official “outbreak" which occurs only when at least three percent of passengers experience symptoms such as of the illness, which include vomiting and diarrhea.

There are 1,970 passengers aboard the Island Princess

Several Princess cruise ships have experienced problems with norovirus this year, Including the Ruby Princess and the Crown Princess.

Maybe I can help, as a translator. I think Roussel is saying the following: The Norovirus is present again on Crown Princess, more than 100 people are affected, but people (patients or staff is unclear) only have one thought, to leave the ship. We (victims?) are alone in our staterooms. (Now it gets a little more complicated...) You are left entirely on your own, and jettisoned (like dogs) off the boat (unclear whether during or at end of end of cruise) as it seems not to matter whether future cruise passengers contract the virus. Well, I've done my best, and my sincere commiserations to Roussel.

I returned 5 days ago from the Crown Princess eastern Med 12 nights. The virus was again present on this ship. I have to say that Princess were fantastic in containing in, which they did as there were no more outbreaks. It is a great shame this happens, if only people were more honest when they checked in at the start of the cruise!!
